MEET YOUR ADVISOR
Every month, Columbia offers a different activity or event for students to participate in. These activities range from bowling and movies to holiday parties and masquerade balls. Activities are a great opportunity for students to socialize outside of class and get to know more people in the community. See the full list here.
If you need help selecting a college, deciding which tests to take, or just filling out applications, the International Student Advisor is here to help. College advising is offered on both an appointment and drop-in basis.
Once per term, we will have a college presentation. A university or college will come talk to the students of CSE, help answer any questions you may have about admissions, and set up appointments for you to visit their college.
Personal advising is always available to students. If you need assistance with a personal matter, the ISA will be available to assist you. For more serious problems, your advisor can recommend appropriate professional assistance. Immigration advising is available to all students on F-1, F-2, M-1, M-2, J-1, J-2, B-1 and B-2 visas.
Students with questions about their classes, schedules, level movement or grades should speak with the International Student Advisor.
The ISA can help students understand their grades, work through problems with classes or teachers, provide course descriptions to students, and recommend workshop classes for future terms.
International students at Columbia School of English are recommended to have health insurance. CSE recommends Compass Insurance to our students. If you need help purchasing insurance, filing a claim, or finding a doctor, please speak with the International Student Advisor.
